After a 40 minute walk through wet and windy conditions, in the gathering gloom of nightfall our select group of Janet and Nigel Briggs, Michael Moss, Rachel Walker, Pippa Leach and her niece Claire, reached the sanctuary of Cwm Eigiau Cottage. We soon had solar powered lights on, the fire lit and food underway. Saturday saw us all walking along the ridge from south of the cottage, as far as Foel Grach taking in Carnedd Llewellyn. We had sunshine, drizzle, mist, rainbows and fleetingly Brocken Spectres, often most of these at the same time. On Sunday Janet, Nigel, Pippa and Rachel completed the circuit of the valley, walking downstream accompanied by Mike, then back along the ridge behind the hut whilst Mike took a lower level route back before heading home. Claire walked up the valley to take some photos.
