Tan Yr Wyddfa, is in Rhyd Ddu, between Caernarfon and Beddgellert, in Eryri (Snowdonia), (see bottom of the page for map). The hut is a superb base for walks with the Rydd Ddu path up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Nantlle Ridge, Moel Hebog, Mynydd Mawr and Yr Aran all within easy reach. For climbing Cloggy is in walking distance and the Llanberis Pass, Ogwen Valley, Tremadog and the Moelwyns are all within easy driving distance. Gogarth is only an hour’s drive away. The cottage is adjacent to the Welsh Highland Railway, and there is a pub and a café close by. The shops, restaurants and pubs of Beddgelert are only five miles away.
Accomodation
No animals are allowed in the hut.
Downstairs
The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 gas cookers, a microwave oven, electric kettles, hot water boiler and toasters, plus all the necessary cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and tea towels. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen. There is also a good-sized utility room for gear and boot storage, with 2 fridges, a freezer and food storage racks. There are 2 toilets and a drying room for wet clothes. There is a large lounge with an open fire. Wood and coal are supplied. Outside there is a lockable bike shed, wood store and coal bunker.
Upstairs
The hut has four bedrooms with a sleeping capacity of 23 in bunk beds. One of these rooms (6 beds) is reserved for the use of Oread members, except when the whole hut has been booked out by another party, for example a party including children. Mattresses and pillows are provided, sleeping bags are required. All bedrooms are heated by electric storage heaters. There are men’s and women’s washrooms with showers, and a toilet.
Outside
There is car parking for 10 cars adjacent to the hut. Limited camping may be allowed but must be arranged through the Hut Booking Secretary.

Approach and Car Parking
Car parking: approach by car is via the public car park (see map) There is parking for 10 cars in total. Any overflow must use the pay and display car park. The access track is rough and should be used with great care. The Oread M. C. is not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles using the access track or car park.
