A select group of Oreads enjoyed a mostly hot and sunny two weeks in the Chamonix valley. After prolonged hot and dry weather throughout July the high mountains were out of condition; though Mick and Kasia managed to grab an ascent of the Tete Blanche at the start of the trip. However with plenty still left to do we had a full two weeks of activities including rock climbing, walking, via ferrata, cycling, swimming and eating.
Most popular route – SE ridge of the Index
Best route (according to Gill) – Papillon Arete
Most fun – Via Ferrata at Flegere
Coldest swim – ask Janet
Most scenic walk – all amazing but Mont Buet included a great bivvy
best restaurant – all of them!
