We will meet in Kniveton at the junction of Ostrich Lane (leaves the main road by
the school) and Longrose Lane where there is some parking. Otherwise park on
the main road and walk the short distance to the meeting point. SK209 508. We
will start at 11.00 am and follow the lane to pick up a bridleway leading us past
Wigber Low then we take a footpath right to cross the Haven Brook and up over
fields to Bradbourne where we can look at the weird ancient animals carved
around the church door. We will return via the bridleway over Haven Hill. This is
a relatively short walk, about four miles, sutable for the darkest days of the year.
