I intend this to be the start of a new project – to walk the length of the Gritstone Trail in a series of loops. I know a lot of folk enjoyed the Peak District Boundary Walk so this is a follow-on. I hope you’ll join me for this stage and hopefully others in the future.

Meet at 10:30am at Trentabank Reservoir Visitor Centre, Macclesfield Forest. Pay and Display car park. OL24 White Peak GR 941722. There may also be free roadside parking at Ridgegate Reservoir. GR 946714.

The approximate route is: Greenbarn, Lowerhouse, Hill of Rossenclowes, Lingerd’s Farm, (possibility to shorten route here), Higher Pethills Farm, Foxbank Farm, Ridge Hall Farm.

We’ll finish at the Leather’s Smithy pub for some refreshment. Bring a packed lunch for al fresco dining.
