Start time :- 10-00am for a 10-00am departure. Distance :- 11 miles.
From where :- Road-side, Butts Lane, Little Longstone, near Monsal Head.
Grid Reference SK 186 716. Or nearby car park with toilets at Monsal Head (pay
& display).
Advise car sharing to reduce the environmental and car spaces demand.
What better as an antidote for the depths of winter? – the White Peak uplands! So
with that in mind I’m guiding us from Monsal Head to see the superb views over
Longstone Moor, down into upper Cressbrookdale and on to Foolow, where, if the
demand is such we could examine the inside of the Bull’s Head pub.
Having allowed you ten minutes in’t pub (tee hee), I shall herd you over the easy
terrain to Eyam and entice us all over the heights of Black Harry’s Lane to gain
the vistas to the south and west. Having reached the wuthering heights of
10
Longstone Edge gravity and big boots will take us via Great and Little Longstone
villages back to the cars.
Take a packed lunch (to feed the meet leader).
