This walk is a mix of woodland and moorland, covering parts of Nether
Padley and the Burbage valley.
We’ll depart at 10.15 from the paying (free for NT members) car park at
Longshaw (map reference SK 266801 marked Nell Croft on maps).
We head southwest to Nether Padley, passing through pleasant woodland
near Lawrencefield and Millstone before getting to the open landscape of
Higgar Tor, Stanage Trig and Burbage valley. Depending on time and
weather we’ll take the green track back to the NT cafe or enjoy far reaching
views from the top path. Mostly on good paths, with a couple of short steep
sections.
Moderate, 8 miles 350m ascent. Bring lunch, cafe refreshments at the end.
